An open notebook.
I'm Alex Kholodniak, a full-stack developer working with Ruby, Rails, and machine learning. OneRuby.dev is my space for exploring the details that a quick tutorial tends to skip.
A background job stops between two writes. A model's weights fit in memory, but its training step doesn't. A search feature needs something smaller than a new service. Those are the kinds of questions this notebook is for.
What you'll find here
Focused experiments, implementation notes, and explanations for practicing developers. Ruby is the starting point; Python, search, and machine learning often enter the picture. The aim is to give you something concrete to inspect and a reason to care about it.
Start with the Sidekiq retry experiment, try its interactive model, or browse the archive.
